Also called the Portmanteau. This rye whiskey and port wine cocktail is perfect for an after dinner treat.
Servings: 1 cocktail
- 2 ounces rye whiskey I use Bulleit
- 1 ounce port any type is fine, but I like the classic!
- 3 dashes orange bitters
- ice a small hand-full will do
Place the ice in a large tumbler. Pour all ingredients over the ice and give it all a few brisk stirs to combine.Serve over ice in a rocks glass, or my preferred way: up, which means strain the cocktail into a glass and serve with no ice.Garnish with an orange peel or brandied cherry.
