Y'all ever been to a party where someone put out a brick of cream cheese and poured some pepper jelly on top of it as an appetizer? It's one of those things you don't want to taste as good as it does. And it does taste good.
But we can do better, can't we?
Let's elevate the old cream cheese and pepper jelly appetizer with deliciously rich burrata!
This is just one of many super simple holiday appetizer recipes I like to keep in my back pocket. If you're looking for some other options, check these out:
Simple Holiday Appetizers:
If you aren't familiar with pepper jelly but you live in the South, you'll probably be surprised to see it living with the normal jams and jellies at your local grocery store. There are all kinds of fancy versions but I think the standard bright-red stuff at the low price point is the best.
Burrata is a different story. Sometimes difficult to find, it's almost always available at natural grocery stores like Whole Foods in the cheese case. If it's available, go for the buffalo burrata for an extra rich cheesiness.
